Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival - Schedule of Events 2019


Wild Blueberry U-Pick (August 15th to end of August 26th)
Come out and pick your own wild blueberries at 159 George Weatherby Road, Debert. 5 pound boxes of wild blueberries also for sale. U-Pick is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 5pm; Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 7pm. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All dates are weather dependent. Earltown Farmers Market (August 24th)
Vendors (Including Angus' Blueberries) will vending at Woolstock at the North Shore Rec Centre in Tatamagouche from 10am to 4pm

Is open at the following times during the Wild Blueberry Festival; August 16th, 2pm to 6pm (Blueberry/Blueberry themed week) August 23rd, 2pm to 8pm (Tata Fest Week)


Annual Wild Blueberry Festival Supper (August 17th 4pm to 6pm)
Peniel United Church, Five Islands will be hosting a wild blueberry supper. There will be a selection of summer salads and of course lots of blueberry desserts. Door prizes and good fellowship to boot! 


All Things Wild Blueberry at the Market (Aug 14th to August 31st)
Masstown Market will be wild blueberry central all festival long with Market-made wild blueberry baked goods filling the shelves, fresh berries from Millen's Farms and plenty of jams, jellies, and even wild blueberry wine!

Wild Blueberry Kitchen Party  (August 22nd)
We will have a "Wild Blueberry Jam" at our Thursday Night Kitchen Party at the Lighthouse. Featuring live music by Gordie Tucker

River Philips Community Hall Dinner (Saturday August 17th)
Keep cool and let us cook for you! Join us for supper at the historic River Philip Hall. We will be feasting on ham and cold salads, rolls, tea/coffee, finishing off with yummy wild blueberry cheesecake/crisp. Cost: $12 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under; free for preschoolers. Wild Blueberry Teddy Bear Picnic (August 19th)
Bring along your favorite teddy bear and stuffed animal and join us! We will have lots of Wild Blueberry snacks, and lots of fun games. Location is Little River Park starting at 2pm

Wild Blueberry Tea (August 20th)
.Oxford Pioneer Heritage Club, 31 Ellis Street. Sandwich Plate, Blueberry Cheese cake or Lemon Blueberry Cheese Cake, Tea or Coffee and Take out is also available. The Cost is $8.00. Starts at 12pm and will go till 2pm
Lemonade & Wild Blueberry Jams/Jellies Sampling (Featuring Thompson’s Berry Products) August 20th
At 6:00pm come on out to the Oxford Soccer Field, there will be jam/jellies sampling. Admission is FREE!

Oxford Library Wrap-up Party (August 21st)
Puppet show, Blueberry themed crafts, games stories etc. Puppet show is from 10:30am-11:00am, Blueberry crafts, games and stories with so much more is from 11:00am-11:30am.

PharmaChoice Giant Yard Sale (August 22nd)
Location: Heritage Square, Oxford starts at 10:00am to 5:00pm. Everyone Welcomed!

Cumberland County Exhibition (August 26-August 31)
Enjoy agricultural shows and entertainment, plus wild blueberry goodies at the concessions here in the Wild Blueberry Capital of Canada!

Community Wild Blueberry Breakfast (August 18th)
Come join us for a wonderful sit down breakfast, goes from 8am to 9:30am. Location is Branch 45, Royal Canadian Legion 56, Moore St in Parrsboro.

Wild Blueberry Day at the Pugwash Farmers Market  (August 17th)
The Pugwash Market Blueberry Festival is happening from 9am until 12pm. The Great Blueberry Bake-Off Competition, Blueberry Shortcake Fundraiser and tasty recipies!

The Local Shop & Market at Mastodon Ridge (August 14th - August 31st)
The Local Shop & Market at Mastodon Ridge will be showcasing all of their awesome blueberry products during the festival! Find them on Face Book and Instagram (mastodon ridge) to keep an eye on sweet blueberry deals and contests!

Tata Fest (August 21-25)
Tatamagouche will be full of activity during the festival featuring a variety of live music, art shows, pottery, Fibrefest and wild blueberry fun at the Farmers Market. More information can be found at www.tatafest.com. While in Tatamagouche be sure to experience a “Taste of the Festival” at the Chowder House, Appleton Chocolate Company and nearby is Fox Harb’r Resort!

Tatamagouche Wild Blueberry Picnic (August 24th)
Along Creamery Rd in Tatamagouche, the picnic will be happening Saturday August 24 from 10am to 2pm.

WILD BLUEBERRY JAM – Kick-off to the Festival (Aug 14th) 
It’s the official kick-off to the festival featuring musical performance by Tim Bowers Trio! Come out from 6pm-9:30pm to the kick-off’s location at Truro’s Civic Square for wild blueberry treats, free concert, children’s entertainment, and hugely popular celebrity pie eating contest and learn about all the great wild blueberry events happening throughout the festival! 

St. David’s 22nd Quilt and Hooked Rug Sale (August 16th and 17th)
The St. David's Quilters and Rug Hookers of Northern Nova Scotia will be hosting a sale of quilts, hooked rugs and smaller hooked and sewn items; the large quilts will be displayed on the pews in the stained glass sanctuary and the rugs and smaller sewn items are in the lower level of the church. Also on the lower level is a complimentary Blueberry Tea room. Admission to the sale is $5.00.

Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast  (Aug 17th)
Head to 883 Prince St where the Slate Youth Centre will be serving up pancakes with blueberry sauce, sausages, beans, and a beverage from 8am to 10:30am.Cost is $8.00.

The Market has the Blues (Aug 17th & 24th)
The Truro Farmers' Market will celebrate all things blueberry with blueberry themed baking, crafts, sauces, fresh and frozen berries and even blueberry liqueur!  Join us from 8 am until 1 pm for music, food and fun!

Wild Bluebrrrrry Skate  (Aug 17th and August 25th)
Free community skate on ice from 2-4pm at 625 Abenaki Rd, Truro the RECC Centre

Wild Blueberry Splash (August 18th)
FREE community swim from 1pm to 3pm at 625 Abenaki Rd, Truro the RECC Centre

NSPEC Exhibition (August 20th to August 24th)
Come out and enjoy all the exciting events that will be happenign throughout the exhibition, with our blueberry festival unway. All happening at 73 Ryland Ave Truro.

Truro Raceway Limited (August 30th)
Come out and take in the live harness racing action with a sit down dinner in the top section of the Grandstands. After enjoying you dinner try out the tasty blueberry dessert! Don't miss out on a fun filled Friday Night on 73 Ryland Ave, Truro.

Cobequid Trail Run (Aug 25th) - 5K, 10K & Half Marathon -Half Marathon begins at 8:30 a.m. / 5K & 10K at 9:00  a.m. NSCC Truro Campus, 36 Arthur St., Truro. 4th Annual Car Show and Blueberry Festival  (August 18th) 
Starts at 9am to 3pm, lots of fun activities to do. Come out and see some amazing car that will be on display at the Learning Centre.

Wild Blueberry Extravaganza (August 24th) 
Head out to the Westchester Fire Hall (Exit 8 off Hwy 104 to 123 Valley Road) for a wild blueberry social, come enjoy everyone and some great wild blueberry items.
